Hey Jesus, Help Me With The Word “No”

Hey Jesus,
You have given me so many talents and skills, and I am so grateful.
I mean seriously, You really broke the mold when You made me.
I want to use up every little spark You’ve placed in me.
I don’t want to waste what You’ve given, and I sure don’t want to let You down.

But sometimes… people ask too much.
Or they ask too often.
And before I know it, I’m saying “yes” to everything, sprinting from one thing to the next, and wondering why I feel my candle burning at both ends.

It’s hard, Lord.
Because I know these gifts are from You,
but I forget they were never meant to be used all at once, all the time, for everyone.
I forget that rest is holy too.

So please—teach me that “no” is not failure.
Help me trust that even when I step back, You are still at work.
Give me the courage to pause so I can protect the flame,
not snuff it out.

Love,
Me

Prayer:
Jesus, remind me I am not meant to do it all.
Show me how to serve with joy, not exhaustion.
Give me discernment to know what’s mine to carry
and what I can gently set down.
Let my “yes” be rooted in love,
and my “no” be wrapped in peace.
Amen.
